Large Lilliput Windup Robot MARY HOUSTON 2009-09-12
I bought this robot for my 5 year old son who is obsessed with them because Max from Max and Ruby loves robots too.
This is actually his second one because at age four somehow his head and claws were ripped off. Obviously it isn't a toy for children but now that my son is older, he has learned how to play with it. It isn't recommended for small children or those who can't play gently with their toys.

Excellent Reproduction - Where's the Bloody Key? R. Gilmore 2007-01-09
I bought this as a gift for my six-year old son, who is obsessed with this robot and calls him 'Robey'. The fact that we live near a life-size version of said robot (Epcot at Disney World), this was to be the perfect gift for Christmas. The robot itself is a tin-toy masterpiece.
Colorful, kitschy -- Beautiful - my six-year old LOVED it.
However (there's always a however) despite the fact that this robot is sold as a collectible and NOT a toy, it should still come with the key. Mine did not. Perhaps it was a fluke, and mine simply did not have one. I have little way of knowing for sure. Considering that this object d'art will occupy a space on my son's shelf and not be played with much makes the absence of the key not a big deal.
Die-hard Collectors may think otherwise. Find out before you order.
